Really???

So my boyfriend is working as a plumber, and they’re at this church trying to fix a problem, but apparently it’s something the city has to deal with. But the church won’t let them go to the city about the problem because it’s a church and there can be miracles and God will give them the inspiration to fix it.

This is what happens when you create a culture of ignorance. This is what happens when you tell people they shouldn’t listen to their science teachers because it will lead them away from God.

Ugh, it’s called entropy, bro. Things don’t just fix themselves. Take a 5th grade science class and you’ll learn about it.

100 Real Tweets from Homophobes Who Would Murder Their Gay Child

stfuconservatives:

(trigger warning for homophobia)

So I guess #ToMyUnbornChild was a trending topic recently. Ugh. To make matters worse, at least 100 terrible people answered the question “What if the fetus you save is gay?” with “I would straight-up murder them, of course!” Chances these same people consider themselves pro-life? Close to 100%, I’d imagine.

-Jess

Shouldn’t child services be put on alert if these people ever try to have children? Especially this guy:

"#ToMyUnbornChild if your a girl i will drown you in the bathtub, and if your a guy and your turn into a faggot ill kill you"

Also, what? This makes a lot of sense:

"#ToMyUnbornChild I will kill you if you Turn Gay , (I support the gays but I will never be one , neither nor my unborn baby)"

Say What Now of the Day: On the Fox Business show Follow the Money, in a segment called “are liberals trying to brainwash your kids against capitalism,” host Eric Bolling and conservative Media Research Center fellow Dan Gainor risk incurring the wrath of loony education-huggers everywhere by bravely excoriating that long-venerated bastion of Communist agitprop: The Muppets.

Among other sacred trojan horses exposed by Bolling and Gainor: Cars 2, Captain Planet, and Nickelodeon’s Big Green Help

Teaching our children to care about the environment? I think I’m going to be sick.

Say What Now of the Day: Members of Saudi Arabia’s highest religious council, the Majlis al-Ifta’ al-A’ala, have submitted a report to the country’s legislative body claiming that allowing women to drive would ultimately result in there being “no more virgins.”
According to the Egyptian publication BikyaMasr, the Majlis, working with former King Fahd University professor Kamal Subhi, have concluded that changing the law to give Saudi women the right to drive would “provoke a surge in prostitution, pornography, homosexuality and divorce.”
They estimate that, in as little as 10 years, the country would run out of virgins.
Women in Saudi Arabia have been actively challenging the kingdom’s status quo in recent months, engaging in drive-in protests that have resulted in several arrests
Saudi’s ruling monarch, King Abdullah, has been flirting with women’s rights reforms, allowing women to participate in local elections and even serve on the royal advisory council. A woman sentenced to be lashed after she was caught driving had her sentence personally revoked by the king.
Though the country is far from a liberal mecca, all these factors have likely contributed to hyperbolic exaggeration on the part of Saudi’s Muslim scholars, who see their influence over the Shura Council waning.

This Is All Kinds Of Wrong of the Day: That local news outlets trade in fearmongering and shameful “ambush journalism” is nothing new.

But FOX 25’s “investigative reporter” Mike Beaudet may have gone too far with his latest “undercover” piece exposing the alleged pornographic past of a charter school English Department chair.

Kevin Hogan was suspended with pay from the top-rated Mystic Valley Regional Charter School in Malden pending an investigation into his previous career as a gay porn star. This, despite the fact that the school admits his references “Were flawless” and, according to at least one parent, “the kids really love him.”

Though Hogan’s extracurricular activities are clearly legal, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, which handles teachers’ licenses, said it would be looking into the matter. “We expect teachers to hold a very high moral standard,” said a department spokesperson. “They are role models for students.”

This latest story of porn-star shaming comes after an LA-area elementary school attempted to cover up a visit by Sasha Grey upon learning that she was once an adult film actress.

That doesn’t even look like him, first of all. Secondly, there’s nothing wrong with porn. It’s not like he’s showing porn movies in class or anything. And being in a porn movie doesn’t make you a pedo or anything. Goddamn.

This Is All Kinds Of Wrong of the Day: In a move to block important changes to the nutritional requirements of school lunches, the GOP-led House of Representatives yesterday voted to pass a bill that eliminates USDA-endorsed anti-childhood-obesity limits to French fries, while maintaining the status of pizza as a “vegetable.”
The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, signed into law by President Obama last year, set new standards for government-funded lunch programs, reducing the serving of white potatoes to one cup a week, and requiring that pizzas contain at least half a cup of tomato paste to constitute “a vegetable.”
The new spending bill keeps the status quo of two tablespoons in place.
“It’s an important victory,” said a spokesman for the American Frozen Food Institute, which represents such food giants as ConAgra, Schwan, McCain, Heinz, Kraft, General Mills, and McDonald’s supplier J.R. Simplot. “Our concern is that the standards would force companies in many respects to change their products in a way that would make them unpalatable to students.”
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack acknowledged the loss, but said the USDA would still do “everything it can” to provide schoolchildren with nutritious lunches.
“Clearly more pizza and French fries in schools is not good for kids, but it’s good for companies that make pizza and French fries,” said Center for Science in the Public Interest nutrition policy director Margo Wootan, noting that food manufacturers talk up the nutritional value of their foods while fighting regulations that require them to do better.
